Infortrend Scales Edge AI Infrastructure for Diverse Deployment Needs

As organizations shift data processing closer to the source of creation, Infortrend Technology has overhauled its edge computing portfolio to bridge the gap between simple remote sites and complex, high-availability AI clusters. The new lineup targets specific operational footprints ranging from single-node setups to scalable, multi-node environments.

Infortrend Scales Edge AI Infrastructure for Diverse Deployment Needs

The expanded portfolio categorizes infrastructure into bare metal hardware for custom software stacks and pre-configured turnkey solutions. For remote locations lacking dedicated IT oversight, the Standalone Edge model offers enterprise-class compute in a compact, low-maintenance unit. Organizations requiring constant uptime can utilize the HA Edge, a two-node redundant system designed to maintain continuity during hardware failures. For high-performance demands, the Advanced Edge configuration provides a scalable 3-to-5-node cluster with automated failover and dynamic resource management.

Underpinning these solutions are two hardware series: the KS 3000U, utilizing a single AMD EPYC 8004 processor and dual GPU support for space-constrained sites, and the KS 5000U, which supports dual Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC 9004/9005 processors. The latter is built for compute-intensive tasks, accommodating up to 320 CPU cores and four GPUs. According to Frank Lee, Senior Director of Product Planning, the initiative aims to reduce cloud dependency and latency by allowing enterprises to align infrastructure capabilities precisely with their specific site requirements.
