The morning session, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. at the university’s Johnson Center, focuses on connecting ministry leaders who operate within Stark, Summit, Portage, Mahoning, Columbiana, Carroll, Holmes, Wayne, and Tuscarawas counties. Participants will have the chance to share strategies for supporting vulnerable populations and learn the specific criteria for the new funding initiative.
Liberty HealthShare CEO Dorsey Morrow noted that the program is designed to support churches already operating with limited resources. The Sharing Hearts Fund has previously focused on regional food insecurity and medical assistance, including a recent 200,000-dollar donation to Akron Children's Hospital for families in Stark and Summit counties. Attendees interested in the grant program must register by August 1.
