Lloyd's Insurance Policyholders Offered Partial Class Action Settlement

Policyholders who purchased insurance through specific Lloyd's, London syndicates between January 1, 1997, and April 15, 2025, may be eligible for a portion of a $3.57 million settlement. The agreement resolves claims alleging a deceptive scheme to limit market competition, though the defendants involved deny any wrongdoing.

Lloyd's Insurance Policyholders Offered Partial Class Action Settlement

The partial settlement impacts those who bought insurance policies from Syndicates 727, 1003, 2003, 2020, and 2791. While these entities have agreed to settle, litigation remains active against Syndicate 2488, which has not joined the agreement. The case, Lincoln Adventures, LLC, et al. vs. Those Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's, et al., is currently pending in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Class members face several upcoming deadlines. Those wishing to exclude themselves from the settlement or file an objection must act by October 2, 2026. A Fairness Hearing is scheduled for October 23, 2026, at the Martin Luther King Building & U.S. Courthouse in Newark to determine if the settlement is adequate. To receive a payment, eligible participants must submit a claim form by October 30, 2026. Further details, including the full plan of allocation and claim procedures, are available at www.SyndicateSettlement.com.
