Tencent to Host Worlds of Play Exhibition at Gamescom 2026

From August 27 to 29, the Wassermannhalle in Cologne will transform into an immersive gallery dedicated to the artistry of digital entertainment. Tencent’s new exhibition, Worlds of Play, brings together 40 iconic game titles to showcase the intersection of creative collaboration, storytelling, and technological design for a global audience.

The exhibition is structured across five thematic zones, each designed to highlight different facets of game development. Reality focuses on tactical intensity with titles such as Arena Breakout and PUBG MOBILE, while Experiments delves into science fiction through Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant. The Abyss zone confronts darker atmospheric narratives, featuring projects like the Dying Light series and GTFO. The Epics section celebrates high-fantasy and legendary worlds, including Black Myth: Wukong, League of Legends, and VALORANT. Finally, the Wonderland zone explores the aesthetic influence of ACG culture through games like Goddess of Victory: Nikke and Wuthering Waves.

Beyond static displays, the event offers a deep dive into the production process. Visitors can examine original concept art, character statues, and scale models that rarely leave studio archives. Steven Ma, Senior Vice President of Tencent, noted that the exhibition serves as a tribute to the collective effort of artists and creators who blend music, design, and narrative to build interactive worlds. The event also facilitates direct engagement between fans and developers, featuring interactive installations and cosplay showcases. Registration for the event is currently open, with organizers recommending early sign-ups due to limited capacity at the Cologne venue.
