The project, titled the Army Collective Training System, involves a partnership between Raytheon UK, Capita, Cervus, Rheinmetall UK, and Skyral. By integrating data-driven analytics with live exercises, the initiative seeks to move beyond traditional training methods, allowing for immersive, adversarial scenarios that can be executed regardless of location. According to James Gray, managing director of Raytheon UK, the goal is to provide commanders with unprecedented realism through a UK-based team of engineers and innovators.
Beyond technological upgrades, the contract functions as a significant economic stimulus for the defense sector. The initiative is set to create 270 new jobs, while supporting an additional 150 existing roles across the supply chain. The consortium members, who have spent the past two years co-locating to unify their vision, bring a combined workforce of over 1,500 personnel dedicated to defense training and innovation.
