Latham & Watkins Adds Chris Hutchison to D.C. Energy Practice

Hutchison’s practice covers the entire project life cycle, ranging from development-stage structuring and construction to tax equity monetization, M&A exits, and restructurings. His experience serving project sponsors, private equity funds, and lenders aligns with the firm’s current efforts to meet sustained demand for sophisticated legal counsel in the energy sector.

Amanda Reeves, managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, noted that his arrival strengthens the firm's integrated energy platform. Chirag Dedania, global co-chair of the Project Development & Finance Practice, emphasized that as energy transactions increase in scale and complexity, Hutchison’s background in joint ventures and multifaceted financing will provide additional momentum to the firm’s growth. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Hutchison will focus on advising clients across a diverse range of asset classes, including thermal power and district energy.
