The partnership grants Fosun Diagnostics rights to distribute immune profiling tools—including ELISpot assay plates—in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. While the agreement establishes a broad framework for expansion, the initial rollout centers on tuberculosis research in Thailand, where Fosun has already identified specific customer demand. Pricing under the contract utilizes a tiered volume structure designed to accommodate scalable commercial economics as the products penetrate new regions.
James Foster, CEO of Virax Biolabs, described the move as a critical step in establishing a structured commercial footprint in Asia. For Fosun Diagnostics, a subsidiary of the global healthcare group Fosun Pharma, the partnership provides a specialized set of tools to bolster its existing regional diagnostic infrastructure. The agreement remains distinct from the development of ViraxImmune, the company’s separate T cell-based diagnostic platform currently undergoing regulatory evaluation. Both parties intend to use this framework to explore future opportunities, including private-label arrangements and broader product offerings for the ASEAN market.
