Nubia Neo 5 GT Special Edition Targets Mobile Gamers with Dual Cooling

By integrating an active liquid-and-air thermal system, the new nubia Neo 5 GT Special Edition aims to solve the problem of sustained performance in mobile gaming. The device, which launches this July, leverages technology inspired by AI server cooling to keep the handset stable during long sessions.

The centerpiece of this hardware is the AquaCore Cooling System, which uses a piezoelectric micropump to circulate coolant alongside a high-speed internal fan. This architecture, which nubia claims is the first of its kind in this smartphone segment, covers a total dissipation area of 33,652 mm². The design includes a transparent back panel that allows users to observe the liquid movement, reinforcing the gaming-centric aesthetic.

Under the hood, the Neo 5 GT Special Edition runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 4nm chipset, supported by up to 24GB of dynamic RAM. The display is a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. To maintain responsiveness, the device features 550Hz Neo Triggers 5.0 and a 3,049Hz instant touch rate, targeting a sub-5.5ms latency.

Power management is handled by a 6,210mAh dual-cell battery with 80W fast charging and bypass support, allowing the phone to run directly from a power source to prevent overheating. Beyond raw hardware, the phone introduces the AI Copilot Demi 2.0, providing players with automated chat functions and gaming guidance. The device will be available in Surge Black and Glacial Silver, with nubia committing to five years of software updates.
