Russia Halts Diesel Exports After Drone Strikes Cripple Omsk Refinery

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak confirmed the measure, which eliminates previous loopholes allowing oil firms to sell fuel abroad. The Omsk plant suffered significant damage on Tuesday when four strikes targeted its ELOU-AVT-11 unit, an installation responsible for 40% of the facility's total output. This incident follows a widening campaign that recently expanded to include energy hubs near the Port of St. Petersburg.

Ukrainian forces utilized upgraded Fire Point FP-1 drones, redesigned to achieve a range of up to 3,400 kilometers. These strikes have now impacted over 16 major refineries and fuel terminals, effectively removing more than 30% of Russia's total refining capacity from operation. Facing a 20% shortfall in domestic gasoline production, Moscow has turned to external suppliers to prevent a supply crisis, including a recent shipment of 60,000 metric tonnes of petrol from the Nayara Energy refinery in India.
