Hyundai Integrates myQ Smart Garage Control into Vehicle Touchscreens

Hyundai drivers can now manage home access directly from their dashboard through a new partnership with Chamberlain Group. By linking myQ technology to the Bluelink platform, the automaker enables remote monitoring, automated geofenced entry, and real-time status alerts for garage doors across select 2024-2026 vehicle models.

The integration allows owners to verify if a garage door is open or closed from anywhere, shifting control from handheld remotes to the car’s central touchscreen. System features include custom geofencing, which triggers door operation based on vehicle proximity, and a valet mode that disables access to protect home security. The interface also supports multiple garage doors and provides reminders if an automated closing sequence is interrupted.

Manish Mehrotra, Chief Information Officer at Hyundai Motor North America, described the move as an effort to embed reliable technology into the daily ownership experience. The service is compatible with major opener brands like LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman. Older hardware can be upgraded via a myQ Smart Garage Control add-on, which connects to the cloud without requiring vehicle-side modifications. Hyundai is currently offering a three-month complimentary trial for the service, with compatibility details available through the MyHyundai mobile app.
