Since its inception in 2010, Hope to Dream has focused on a singular goal: ensuring children have a safe, comfortable place to sleep. Each donation includes a twin mattress, frame, bedding, and pillow. The 200,000th donation was celebrated in Clearwater, Florida, alongside Suncoast Voices for Children, an organization dedicated to supporting youth in the foster system. As part of this specific milestone event, Suncoast Voices for Children received 300 additional bed sets to distribute to families in need.
According to Amber Slusser, Executive Director of Suncoast Voices for Children, providing a bed does more than improve sleep quality. It offers stability and can even help relative caregivers meet licensing requirements to keep children connected to family. Ben Thorud, President of Hope to Dream, noted that while the numerical milestone is significant, the true value lies in the individual impact on children who now have a dedicated space to recharge. The organization continues to expand its reach through partnerships, including recent efforts with Harvest Family Life Ministries in Texas, as it works to address the sleep needs of children across the United States and Canada.
