Essity Names Andreas Mattsson as Chief Legal Officer

Mattsson joins the Stockholm-based firm after a thirteen-year tenure as General Counsel at Billerud. His background includes significant experience at the law firm Cederquist, providing him with the international expertise Essity leadership identified as critical for their future growth. CEO Ulrika Kolsrud noted that Mattsson’s business-focused legal approach will be central to the company’s ongoing development.

Schmidt, a fixture of the executive team since Essity’s 2017 public listing, will officially vacate his post on December 31, 2026. Board Chairman Jan Gurander credited Schmidt for his long-standing role as a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors, acknowledging his contribution to the company’s success during his tenure.
