The project utilizes Envision’s Gen 7 BESS platform, which has been re-engineered to extend autonomy from two hours to 2.4 hours. This adjustment reflects a strategic move to meet the shifting demands of the UK’s power grid. By integrating AI-driven management and grid-forming capabilities, the installation is designed to manage the volatility of renewable energy sources while supporting the electrification of local manufacturing and logistics sectors.
Henry Peng, Envision’s Senior Vice President for EU and LATAM, emphasized that the collaboration represents a shift toward more intelligent, adaptive energy infrastructure. Pulse Clean Energy, represented by Aazzum Yassir and Vasilis Ntanovasilis, noted that the facility will serve as a benchmark for large-scale storage. The project is backed by independent ESG due diligence, ensuring the infrastructure meets sustainability standards as it integrates into the local West Midlands energy network.
