Sealaska Shareholders Elect Four Directors at 53rd Annual Meeting

During the 53rd Annual Meeting of Shareholders held in Angoon on June 27, Sealaska certified the results of its 2026 Board of Directors election. Shareholders filled four open seats, while simultaneously rejecting a proposed resolution concerning discretionary voting procedures for future corporate governance.

The newly elected board members are Lisa Ka'illjuus Lang, Karen Taug, Anthony Mallott, and Dr. Angela Michaud. Following the certification, Board Chairman Richard Rinehart reaffirmed the organization's focus on a values-driven strategy aimed at strengthening the culture and homelands of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian people.

Vice President of Policy and Corporate Affairs Madeline Soboleff Levy noted a rise in voter participation compared to the previous year, emphasizing that higher engagement remains a priority for the corporation. President Sarah Dybdahl added that shareholder involvement is central to the group's ongoing efforts to accelerate growth and secure long-term value for its more than 27,000 members. Looking ahead, the corporation has scheduled its 2027 Annual Meeting to take place in Portland, Oregon.
