Kia America Hits Mid-Year Record Led by Hybrid Sales Surge

Kia America closed the first half of 2026 with 430,727 vehicles sold, a three percent year-over-year increase that marks an all-time high for the brand. June performance proved particularly strong, with 70,507 units delivered, representing a 10 percent jump compared to the same month last year.

Kia America Hits Mid-Year Record Led by Hybrid Sales Surge

The company’s growth is anchored in a shift toward electrified models, as hybrid sales surged 187 percent in June alone. This demand provided the backbone for record-breaking monthly figures across several key nameplates, including the Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival. Retail sales also climbed 17 percent, signaling sustained consumer interest across the automaker's evolving lineup.

Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations at Kia America, attributed the results to a flexible strategy that balances internal combustion engines with an expanding hybrid and electric portfolio. Looking toward the second half of the year, the company plans to maintain this momentum with the nationwide rollout of the all-new Seltos, continued promotion of the 2027 Telluride, and the upcoming launch of the EV3. Manufacturing remains a focal point as the company prepares to begin production of the Sportage Hybrid at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America facility in Georgia.
