The deal formalizes a division of labor where Innovent leverages its expansive oncology sales infrastructure to drive adoption of Verzenios, a therapy already integrated into China’s National Reimbursement Drug List. Since its inclusion in 2021 and subsequent 2025 renewal, the drug has gained significant traction for treating both early-stage and metastatic hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.

For Lilly, the arrangement aligns with a broader strategy to accelerate the delivery of its oncology pipeline in China, following recent regulatory approvals for other precision therapies. The collaboration aims to capitalize on existing reimbursement coverage to broaden patient access to the drug across the country.
